LONGWOOD NATURE PRESERVE GROUP
Working Towards a Brighter Future
The Longwood Nature Preserve is an emerging 501 (c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping influence and support wildlife preservation and habitat restoration near the Little Cypress Creek watershed in Longwood Village. This area was purchased by Harris County for flood damage reduction efforts as part of the Frontier program. We support the conversion and use of this area for storm water conveyance and detention to protect the homes in our community.
FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION: WE CHOSE TO LEAD THE WAY.
Our new entity welcomes all Longwood residents who want to play a role in helping to shape the future of Longwood Village. As the county embarks on flood mitigation efforts in our community, we want to influence, preserve and protect the green space and natural areas that make our community so special.
A MEANINFUL INFLUENCE
We will work to have a seat at the table and say on the Frontier program in our community.We envision shared hiking and biking trails. Space to get outside and get moving, away from the busy streets and traffic in our community.
A BETTER PATH
We envision a space that protect ours homes from flooding while providing us with a community gathering place.  A place where residents can gather, connect, learn about nature and enjoy the outdoors.

We envision natural areas that provide a respite to local wildlife
